Meet our Associates
As you may have already guessed, we are a mother/daughter team, both with extensive backgrounds in finance and accounting.

Hi, I'm Cheryl, a/k/a Mom! As a C-level executive assistant for 40+ years (I started when I was 5), I have spent many years working in the world of Finance. My experience spans from balancing my own checkbook to supporting cost & budget, monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, cash disbursements, payroll, strategy and corporate development, managing leased car and FAVR mileage reimbursement programs, and the list goes on. For the past 25 years I have also handled all of the financial reporting, income/expense tracking, bank account reconciliations, project financial management, tax preparation and filing, and investing in real estate (both rentals and fix-and-flips) for my husband's C-Corporation. It is now my extreme pleasure to be able to work with my daughter, Lisa, helping other small to mid-sized companies grow their businesses with stable, reliable financial management and reporting.

Hi, I'm Lisa, the daughter! I once said, "Mother, I love you; but I don't want to BE you!" My Mother wisely replied, "I don't want you to be ME. I want you to be the best YOU you can be." So to now stand shoulder to shoulder with the one who became "the voice in my head" and share in a business with her makes me very happy. While we do not have exactly the same skills, our combined skills compliment each other very well. I, too, have been an executive assistant in the sales and marketing arena. For the past twenty-five years (I started at age 2) I have been a Financial Analyst for the largest wine and spirits distributor in the country. My experience includes financial reporting, income/expense tracking, bonus and incentive calculations, and project management, as well as handling the bookkeeping, accounting, and tax preparation for my husband, who is a general contractor. At whatever stage or industry your business is in, we can help you get clear insight into your financial position so that you have the information you need to make solid decisions to grow your business.

What You Gain
by entrusting your books to
Heartland Bookkeeping Associates
Peace of Mind
knowing your books are accurate each month so you can stay organized and tax-ready and have the information you need to make good financial decisions.
Time
Better Spent
by having a "second set of eyes" on your finances each month, so you can spend your time building your business.
Consistent Visibility
into your finances, so you can make smart decisions and confidently manage your business.
To give you an example, a landscaping customer recently shared that he was spending 3 hours a week laboring over his books when he would much rather be out selling his services. He stated that in an hour over the phone, he could sell at least one service. His average sale was $6,000. So let's break that down.
Three hours a week is 12 hours a month. If he could spend an extra 12 hours a month making sales calls while we take care of his books, he would average an increase of $72,000/month in new sales. Based on the size of his (very large) business, his monthly bookkeeping fee would be $3,000. That would be a net increase of $69,000/month. So, in this case, hiring Heartland Bookkeeping Associates would be like "buying money", as well as gaining time and peace of mind.
